What started out as a simply way to do “phone calls” through the Internet has turned into a tool that could replace your telephone service, do video chatting, and share your computer with one or multiple people for presentations.

One of our favorite backup programs is Cobian backup. This little free program gives users so much flexibility from which files are backed up, where the backup files will be placed, how you’ll be notified if it fails (or succeeds), it can encrypt your backed up data, place on an offsite location via FTP, and so much more. So listen to us gush about one of our favorite programs all time.

Duane and Carter discuss whether Firefox has evolved as much as Safari or Internet Explorer. Are the extension still the main appeal for this browser? For most part we feel that Firefox was essential for the maturity of all web browsers as a whole with it’s introduction of tabbed browsing and some plugins like session saver, but now most of the browsers have many of the same features.

Apple’s latest version of their web browser is out and available for Windows and Mac. Safari 4 has added plenty of eye candy like the Top Sites menu with a panoramic view of websites you’ve visited often and History search with Coverflow (similar to iTunes). There are also many tools for web developers/designers that are hidden in the preference pane as well.
